The Hinckley Company, builder of the famed Picnic boats and operator of numerous Hinckley boatyards up the east coast, has again asked Jim Bronstien to assist them in their latest project, building of a brand new boatyard in Stamford, Connecticut. Bronstien has had a long standing relationship with Hinckley dating back to when Bronstien owned Rybovich. At the time Hinckley and Rybovich had a joint venture relationship to service their picnic boats when they first started to arrive in South Florida.

The latest boatyard for Hinckley in Stamford is being built to suit by Building and Land Technology (BLT) as part of an overall redevelopment of the waterfront in Stamford. This 4 acre yard will have a 75 ton lift, dry storage for about 150 boats and a rack storage/service building for about 50 boats.

“Jim has been our point guy to get this yard approved and built and has done a fabulous job. He has worked jointly with us and BLT and we are thrilled that this yard will come on line by the end of the year”, says Mike Arieta, COO of Hinckley. We’d love to have him operate the yard when open, but Jim prefers living in South Florida instead of Stamford”!
